Recycling

Additives to recycle polyesters
such as PET, PBT, PLA and polyamides

Polyesters, polyamides and polycarbonates suffer hydrolysis and thermal degradation during processing, that´s why when you buy a recycled grade, the viscosity is much lower than the one you find with a virgin grade.

If you have experienced problems when you try to extrude or inject recycled streams of polyesters, polyamides and polycarbonate, AddiCo additives can help!

Chain Extension in PET

Recycled PET untreated shows low and inconsistent viscosity

AddiCo 9000, 9050

(granulate)

or AddiCo 3910 (pellet)

PET + AddiCo (0.5%) recovers

its melt viscosity

Chain Extension in PBT

AddiCo 9000 and its masterbatch AddiCo 3910 are an excellent choice as chain extenders for PBT. They allow lower melt viscosity, improving processability of recycled streams.

Chain Extension in PLA

AddiCo 9000 and its masterbatch AddiCo 3910 are an excellent choice as chain extenders for aliphatic polyesters

Small concentrations of these additives allow the recovery of molecular weight and melt viscosity
