Characterization

Izod and Notched Izod Impact (ISO 180 & ASTM D256)

We offer Izod and Notched Izod impact testing (ISO 180 / ASTM D256) to evaluate the toughness of polymeric materials. Our equipment uses an 11 J pendulum and supports standardized notched specimens to simulate real-world mechanical stress.

Ideal for:

  • Material performance comparison.

  • Prototype validation.

  • Recycled or modified polymer assessment.

Tensile & Flexural Testing (ISO 527 & ISO 178)

Our laboratory uses universal testing machines to evaluate the tensile strength, elastic modulus, and flexural strength of plastic specimens in accordance with ISO 527 (tensile test) and ISO 178 (three-point bending test). These standardized tests are essential for assessing a material’s stiffness, load capacity, and deformation behavior, enabling reliable data for material selection, part design, and quality control.

What you get with our service:

  • Measurement of tensile modulus, yield and break strength, and elongation at break.

  • Determination of flexural modulus and maximum flexural stress.

  • Results that support comparative analysis, batch certification, and failure diagnostics.

Our lab capabilities:

  • ISO 527 tensile testing on molded or extruded specimens.

  • ISO 178 flexural testing using three-point loading.

  • Equipped with a calibrated universal testing machine. Temperature-controlled fixtures available upon request.

  • Compliant with ISO/IEC 17025 permitting and high reproducibility across labs and industries.

Shore A and D hardness

We offer Shore A and Shore D hardness testing to assess the surface resistance of soft and rigid plastic materials. This simple yet essential test provides quick insight into a material’s resistance to indentation, helping determine its suitability for specific end-use applications.

Why it matters:

  • Shore A is used for flexible materials like elastomers and soft TPEs.

  • Shore D applies to rigid thermoplastics such as HDPE, PP, or reinforced compounds.

  • Hardness results aid in material selection, quality control, and comparative analysis across different grades or batches.

Sputtering

We apply metallic coatings on samples for electron microscopy analysis, improving conductivity and resolution in morphological studies.

  • We offer Au coatings with uniform thicknesses that improve visualization and conductivity.

FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy)

We identify functional groups in polymers, allowing structural analysis and material characterization. This service includes detailed interpretation of spectra on virgin, recycled, or modified samples.

Polymer Biodegradation Tests (ISO / ASTM)
